Biological Activity
SDHA Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived SDHA protein, expressed by E. coli, with C-6*His tag.
SDHA is the flavoprotein (FP) subunit of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), which participates in complex II of the mitochondrial electron transport chain and is responsible for transferring electrons from succinate to ubiquinone (coenzyme Q). SDH also oxidizes malate to the non-canonical enol form of oxaloacetate, enol-oxaloacetate (by similar). Enol-oxaloacetate, a potent inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase activity, can be further isomerized into keto-oxaloacetate (by similar). Additionally, SDHA can function as a tumor suppressor.
