SMOC1 Protein, Human (408a.a, HEK293, His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
SMOC1 Protein is a matricellular protein that interferes with growth factor receptor signalling. SMOC1 Protein plays essential roles in both eye and limb development and is a regulator of osteoblast differentiation. SMOC1 Protein, Human (408a.a, HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived SMOC1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.
- Species: Human
- Source: HEK293

Background
SMOC1 Protein is a matricellular protein that interferes with growth factor receptor signalling. SMOC1 Protein plays essential roles in both eye and limb development and is a regulator of osteoblast differentiation. SMOC1 encodes a multi-domain secreted protein that may have a critical role in ocular and limb development. Mutations in this gene are associated with microphthalmia and limb anomalies[1][2].
Verified Bioactivity
Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of A431 human epithelial carcinoma cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.8067 μg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 1239.618 units/mg.
