Biological Activity
Description
SPT16 Protein, Arabidopsis thaliana is the recombinant SPT16, expressed by E. coli , with tag Free labeled tag. ,
Background
SPT16 is a component of the FACT complex, a general chromatin factor that reorganizes nucleosomes. The FACT complex is involved in multiple DNA-templated processes such as mRNA elongation, DNA replication, and DNA repair. During transcription elongation, the FACT complex acts as a histone chaperone that both destabilizes and restores nucleosomal structure. It facilitates RNA polymerase II passage and transcription by promoting the dissociation of one histone H2A-H2B dimer from the nucleosome, then subsequently promotes nucleosome reestablishment after RNA polymerase II passage (Probable).
