Description
TYR/Tyrosinase Protein, Mouse (Cell-Free, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived TYR/Tyrosinase protein, expressed by E. coli Cell-free, with N-10*His labeled tag., has molecular weight of 61.3 kDa.
Background
TYR/Tyrosinase is a copper-containing oxidase involved in the formation of pigments such as melanins and other polyphenolic compounds. It catalyzes the initial and rate-limiting step of converting tyrosine to DOPA (3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine), initiating the cascade of reactions leading to melanin production. Additionally, it oxidizes DOPA to DOPA-quinone and potentially oxidizes DHI (5,6-dihydroxyindole) to indole-5,6 quinone. by similar: The enzyme's activity is closely linked to the regulation of melanin biosynthesis pathways.

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration). Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.
