Biological Activity
UCK2 Protein, Human (His, Strep) is the recombinant human-derived UCK2, expressed by E. coli , with Strep, His labeled tag. ,
UCK2 is a kinase that phosphorylates uridine and cytidine to uridine monophosphate (UMP) and cytidine monophosphate (CMP), respectively. It does not phosphorylate deoxyribonucleosides or purine ribonucleosides but can use either ATP or GTP as a phosphate donor. Additionally, UCK2 can phosphorylate various cytidine and uridine nucleoside analogs, including 6-azauridine, 5-fluorouridine, 4-thiouridine, 5-bromouridine, N(4)-acetylcytidine, N(4)-benzoylcytidine, 5-fluorocytidine, 2-thiocytidine, 5-methylcytidine, and N(4)-anisoylcytidine.
