Cationic basic thiazine dyes are a class of synthetic dyes containing a thiazine ring structure; their molecules carry a positive charge, enabling specific binding to negatively charged biomolecules such as DNA and proteins. Commonly used in fluorescence staining, flow cytometry, and microbial identification—with typical examples including methylene blue and thioflavin T—these dyes possess fluorescent properties of significant value for apoptosis detection and bioimaging.
