Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate  (Synonyms: Zinc(II) Triflate)

Cat. No.: HY-21170E Purity: 99.8%
Handling Instructions Technical Support

Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate (Zinc (II) Triflate) is a Zn2+ salt commonly used in potentiometric titration to determine the stability constants of Zn2+-quinoline sulfonamide complexes. Aqueous solutions of Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate form micellar structures, which result in poor desolvation kinetics of Zn2+ and induce dendrite growth on zinc anodes, failing to support long-term cycling of zinc anodes.

Description

Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate (Zinc (II) Triflate) is a Zn2+ salt commonly used in potentiometric titration to determine the stability constants of Zn2+-quinoline sulfonamide complexes. Aqueous solutions of Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate form micellar structures, which result in poor desolvation kinetics of Zn2+ and induce dendrite growth on zinc anodes, failing to support long-term cycling of zinc anodes[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Solutions of Zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate (0-1.2 M) form micelle-like structures at concentrations above ~0.4 M, exhibiting a change in the slope of ionic conductivity, a positive Tyndall effect, and a DLS peak at 714.6 nm in 1 M solutions[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
