2-Biphenylboronic acid is a substrate employed in a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling with benzylic acetates providing diarylmethanes. It is a reactant involved in Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions with arylhalides, dibromovinyl precursors, alkenyl tosylates and mesylate s, and quinoline carboxylates. It is involved In intramolecular Friedel-Crafts alkylation for synthesis of chiral tetralins, hydroxylation to phenols and oxidative coupling with alkynes.
