The resulting 7-tributylstannyl isoquinoline serves as a core coupling reagent for subsequent Stille coupling reactions: researchers employ a Corey/Han/Stoltz modified Stille reaction to couple 7-tributylstannyl isoquinoline with the enol triflate derived from a steroidal intermediate, successfully constructing the cortistatin A core analog, which acts as a key parent nucleus intermediate for the synthesis of a series of anti-angiogenic active derivatives[1].
