Biological Activity
NAD+ can serve as a substrate for various enzymes that catalyze the cleavage of the glycosidic bond in the nicotinamide moiety, releasing the ADP-β-D-ribofuranose moiety. ADP-β-D-ribofuranose can then be translocated to receptor molecules, such as proteins, DNA, and small molecule metabolites[1].
