AF 555 azide is a fluorescent dye and is the azide of AF 555. It contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups (Ex/Em = 555/565 nm).

Description

AF 555 azide is a fluorescent dye and is the azide of AF 555. It contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups (Ex/Em = 555/565 nm)[1][2].

In Vitro

AF555-azide can be used for copper-catalyzed azide-alkynylene cycloaddition reactions (CuAAc): AF555 azide can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkynylene cycloaddition reactions with molecules containing alkynyl groups to form stable 1,2,3-triazole rings.
AF555-azide can also undergo ring-strain-driven alkynylene-azide cycloaddition reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups without the need for a copper catalyst.
AF555-azide can be used for surface modification of nanoparticles, integrating fluorescent signals onto the nanoparticle surface through click chemistry reactions for fluorescent labeling and functionalization of materials.
AF555-azide can be used to modify polymers, achieving fluorescent labeling through reaction with alkynyl groups on the polymer chain.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
