BD-105 is a glucagon-binding fluorescent probe with a Ka value of 13.3 μM. BD-105 exhibits changes in fluorescence intensity upon interaction with glucagon, and colocalizes with glucagon in cells and tissues. BD-105 is a selective cell stain that labels glucagon-secreting cells without staining insulin-secreting cells or non-endocrine control cells. BD-105 serves as an imaging reagent for glucagon in live cells and tissues.

Description

BD-105 is a glucagon-binding fluorescent probe with a Ka value of 13.3 μM. BD-105 exhibits changes in fluorescence intensity upon interaction with glucagon, and colocalizes with glucagon in cells and tissues. BD-105 is a selective cell stain that labels glucagon-secreting cells without staining insulin-secreting cells or non-endocrine control cells. BD-105 serves as an imaging reagent for glucagon in live cells and tissues[1].

In Vitro

BD-105 (500 nM; 24 h) selectively stains glucagon-secreting AlphaTC1 cells, with no detectable staining in BetaTC6 or HeLa cells[1].
BD-105 (10 μM) in buffer has an absorption maximum of 550 nm and emission maximum of 568 nm with a quantum yield of ~0.012; upon addition of 200 μM glucagon to 1 μM BD-105, quantum yield increases to 0.151 with absorption and emission maxima shifted to 553 nm and 570 nm, respectively[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
