BI-836858 is a fully human anti-CD33 monoclonal antibody. BI-836858 reduces CD33+ cells via antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), blocks downstream signaling of S100A9/CD33, decreases the secretion of immunosuppressive cytokines and reactive oxygen species-induced genomic instability, and restores bone marrow hematopoietic function. BI-836858 is applicable to the research of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and AML.

BI-836858 (10 μg/mL; 30 min) mediates specific ADCC activity against primary AML blasts[1].
BI-836858 (2 μg/mL; 4 h) mediates NK cell-dependent ADCC activity against CD33-positive HL60 cells[2].
BI-836858 (2 μg/mL; 48 h) blocks the CD33-mediated inhibitory signaling pathway in MDS bone marrow cells and reduces the expression of IL-10 and TGFβ[2].
BI-836858 (2 μg/mL) specifically blocks CD33 (S100A9)-mediated ROS production in U937 cells, healthy PBMCs, and primary MDS BM HSPCs[2].
BI-836858 (2 μg/mL; 14 days) restores the hematopoietic colony-forming capacity in ex vivo cultures of primary MDS bone marrow specimens[2].
