Difluprednate's active metabolite 21-deacetylated difluprednate (DFB) is a competitive agonist of GC receptors with a Ki of 0.061 nM. Difluprednate binds to GC receptors through metabolism to DFB, regulating the transcription of inflammatory mediator genes, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory activity.
