Biological Activity: Phthalylsulfathiazole (N4-Phthalylsulfathiazole) is an orally active sulfonamide intestinal antibacterial agent. Phthalylsulfathiazole has low toxicity and excellent bacteriostatic efficacy. Phthalylsulfathiazole inhibits E. coli, streptococci, staphylococci, and total fecal bacteria.
