Clomesone is inactive against most human colorectal cancer solid tumor cell lines in vitro, has no significant activity against mouse tumors in vivo, and is accompanied by bone marrow suppression. Its pharmacokinetic behavior indicates that it cannot reach effective concentrations at the tumor site.
