Description

Cellooctaose is an oligosaccharide, consisting of eight glucose residues. Cellooctaose is a low-cost polysaccharides in fermentation to hold on Lactococcus lactis recombinant strain growth. Cellooctaose is the substrate of beta-glucosidase (E.C. 3.2.1.21)[1][2].

In Vitro

Cellooctaose can provide a growth platform for Lactococcus lactis recombinant strain, which constitutively secretes a β-glucosidase and an endoglucanase, and be metabolized into L-Lactic acid (LA)[1].
Cellooctaose, can be generated from further hydrolyzed cellodextrins (cellotriose to cellooctaose) by β-glucosidase (0.19 μg/mL) to give glucose by sequentially splitting off glucose molecules from the oligomeric substrates and intermediates[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
