Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
DABCO-Bis (sulfur dioxide) (DABSO) acts as an SO2 surrogate in a palladium-catalyzed domino Heck/sulfination reaction to generate reactive sulfinate intermediates that can be converted to sulfones, sulfonamides, or sulfonyl fluorides, producing a broad range of sulfur-containing hetero- and carbocyclic scaffolds with isolated yields from 32% to 80%[2].
DABCO-Bis (sulfur dioxide) delivers sulfur dioxide as a sulfinyl-dication equivalent in a one-pot room-temperature reaction with organometallic reagents and trimethylsilyl chloride, generating a wide range of unsymmetrical sulfoxides in good to excellent isolated yields (47-99%) and high selectivity for the desired product[5].
