AM4299 A specifically inhibits purified bovine spleen cathepsin B (IC50 = 7.3 × 10-8 M), human kidney cathepsin L (IC50 = 3.9 × 10-7 M), and Carica papaya papain (IC50 = 8.8 × 10-8 M), with no activity against bovine pancreas trypsin or α-chymotrypsin at concentrations up to 8.0 × 10-5 M[1].
