DBCO-PEG-SH (MW 3400) (DBCO-PEG-Thiol (MW 3400)) is a multifunctional dye composed of three parts: DBCO, PEG, and SH. The DBCO group undergoes a strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction with azide-containing molecules to form a stable C-N bond; the PEG chain segment confers good water solubility and biocompatibility on the compound while reducing immunogenicity; the thiol group possesses multiple reactivities, such as forming a thioether bond with maleimide.
