Acts upstream of or within several processes, including animal organ development; dorsal/ventral neural tube patterning; and signal transduction involved in regulation of gene expression. Part of transcription regulator complex. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; forebrain; genitourinary system; limb; and sensory organ.
