Geomycin C is an antimicrobial agent. Geomycin C inhibits growth of Gram-positive bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Geomycin C inhibits growth of Gram-negative bacterium Escherichia coli. Geomycin C can be used for the research of bacterial infections.

Biological Activity
Geomycin C inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 6538) with an IC50 of 17.3 µM and an MIC of 75.8 µM[1].
Geomycin C inhibits the growth of Streptococcus pneumoniae (CGMCC 1.1692) with an IC50 of 36.2 µM and an MIC of 151.5 µM[1].
Geomycin C inhibits the growth of Escherichia coli (CGMCC 1.2340) with an IC50 of 12.9 µM and an MIC of 30.3 µM[1].
