Edultin exerts mild inhibitory effects on some clinically isolated strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. Edultin can be used in studies related to tumor promotion and bacterial infections.

Edultin (8-128 mg/L) exhibits slight antibacterial activity at 128 mg/L, inhibiting 4 of 8 Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates and 1 of 16 Staphylococcus aureus clinical isolates, with no activity observed at concentrations of 8, 25, or 32 mg/l^[2].
