MNI-caged-L-glutamate TFA
MNI-caged-L-glutamate TFA is an inert photolabile glutamate precursor. MNI-caged-L-glutamate TFA does not modulate NMDA and AMPA receptor function in cultured neurones. MNI-caged-L-glutamate TFA can be used for research on neurotransmitters.

Biological Activity
MNI-caged L-glutamate (0.1 mM; single 1 ms flashes, repeated up to 8 times) TFA undergoes photolytic conversion with 30-38% efficiency per 1 ms flash in aqueous vesicles[1].
MNI-caged L-glutamate (250-1000 μM; 5-10 min) TFA does not act as an antagonist at AMPARs in cultured rat hippocampal neurones, and photoreleased L-glutamate activates AMPAR-mediated currents with a half-rise time of 0.78 ms[1].
MNI-caged L-glutamate (500 μM; 5-10 min) TFA does not act as an antagonist at NMDARs in cultured rat hippocampal neurones[1].
MNI-caged L-glutamate (1 mM; 5-10 min) TFA does not alter GABAA R-mediated spontaneous current amplitudes in cultured rat hippocampal neurones[1].
