Description

MOG (35-55) amide, mouse, rat the terminal amidation form of the 35-55 fragment of the myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) immunogenic peptide (MOG (35-55) (HY-P1240)). MOG(35-55) amide, mouse, rat can be used for experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) modeling[1][2][3].

In Vitro

The expanded CD4+ T cells are largely specific for the myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) immunogenic peptide 35-55 (MOG35-55), while clonally expanded CD8+ T cells were non-responsive to myelin peptides or proteins[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

MOG(35-55) amide, mouse, rat (200 μg, s.c., two immunizations on day 0 and day 7) can induce a classic experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) model characterized by myelin sheath damage and flaccid paralysis in ABH mice[2].
MOG(35-55) amide, mouse, rat (200 μg, s.c., two immunizations on day 0 and day 7) is a known encephalitis-inducing epitope in C57BL/6 mice, capable of inducing chronic acute exacerbation encephalitis (EAE), but the severity and latency of the disease exhibit significant variability[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Biozzi ABH (H-2dq1) mice (10 weeks old) were subcutaneously injected with an emulsion mixture of antigen and complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)[2].
Dosage: 200 μg
Administration: S.c., two immunizations were administered on day 0 and day 7
Result: Immunized with NF-L protein (200 μg each), significant spastic symptoms were observed, which could induce a classic EAE model characterized by myelin sheath damage and flaccid paralysis.
Animal Model: Female 8- to 10-week-old C57BL/6 (H-2b)[3].
Dosage: 200 μg
Administration: S.c., two immunizations were administered on day 0 and day 7
Result: The incidence of induced EAE was variable (in one experiment, 5 out of 5 mice developed the disease, with an average maximum clinical score of 3.1 (infected mice only) and a group score of 3.1; in another experiment, 3 out of 5 mice developed the disease, with an average maximum clinical score of 2.8 (infected mice) and a group score of 1.7.)

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
