Olivetolic acid is a biosynthetic precursor of cannabinol acid (CBGA). Olivetolic acid exhibits a modest anticonvulsant effect in a mouse model of Dravet syndrome. Olivetolic acid can be used for the study of convulsion.

Animal Model:Scn1a+/- mice (P14-16, male and female) generated by breeding 129.Scn1a+/- mice with C57BL/6J mice were used as the model of Dravet syndrome[1]

Administration:i.p. for a single dose

Result:Achieved a modest increase in the hyperthermia-induced generalized tonic-clonic seizure (GTCS) temperature threshold by approximately 0.4°C at a dose of 100 mg/kg.
Showed no significant anticonvulsant effects at doses of 10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg in the same mouse model.
