Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether (Polyethylene glycol octadecyl ether (n~10, average Mn~711)) is a nonionic surfactant. Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether reduces interfacial tension through its amphiphilic structure, stabilizes emulsions via steric hindrance, and forms micelles for solubilization. Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether can serve as a biomaterial or organic compound for life science-related research.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether (Polyethylene glycol octadecyl ether (n~10, average Mn~711)) adsorbs to the EFD clay surface at the highest molar ratio among the tested surfactants, which may be attributed to its stronger hydrophilicity, thereby achieving stronger interactions through hydrogen bonding or ion-dipole interactions[1].
Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether does not possess free radical scavenging activity (its antioxidant activity derives entirely from the polyphenolic compounds extracted using it)[3].
Polyoxyethylene (10) stearyl ether enables the leaching of copper from pure metallic copper in hydrochloric acid aqueous solution foam, and the addition of 10% Cu2+ ions enhances its kinetics[2].
