Biological Activity
Description
D-amino-acid oxidase Protein, Human (His) is a recombinant D-amino-acid oxidase protein with a His tag. D-amino acid oxidase (DAO) is a flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)-dependent oxidase metabolizing neutral and polar D-amino acids[1].
Background
D-amino acid oxidase (DAO) is a flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)–dependent peroxisomal enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of neutral and polar D-amino acids with a strict stereospecificity to give α-keto acids, ammonia, and reactive oxygen species (ROS)[1].
Verified Bioactivity
Measured by its ability to produce hydrogen peroxide during the oxidative deamination of D-amino acids that incubate the reactions for 10 minutes at 37 °C. The specific activity is > 1000 pmol/min/μg.
