Background

The Delta-like protein 4/DLL4 Protein plays a pivotal role in the Notch signaling pathway, serving as a Notch ligand and activating both NOTCH1 and NOTCH4. In the context of angiogenesis, DLL4 assumes a regulatory role by negatively influencing endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenic sprouting. The protein is essential for retinal progenitor proliferation and is required for suppressing rod fates in late retinal progenitors while contributing to the proper generation of other retinal cell types. Furthermore, during spinal cord neurogenesis, DLL4 inhibits V2a interneuron fate. Its interactions with NOTCH4 and NOTCH1 highlight the molecular basis of its role as a ligand in the Notch signaling cascade, emphasizing its multifaceted functions in orchestrating crucial cellular processes during development.

Biological Activity

1.Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to enhance BMP2-induced alkaline phosphatase activity in C3H10T1/2 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 1-5 µg/mL in the presence of 500 ng/mL recombinant human BMP2.
2.Immobilized DLL4 Protein, Mouse, Recombinant (His Tag) at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind NOTCH1 Protein, Mouse, Recombinant (ECD, hFc Tag),the EC50 is 5-30 ng/mL.
