Background

HER3 is a tyrosine protein-kinase that is a key cell surface receptor for neuregulin. Under the activation of neuregulin 1 (NRG1), ligand binding enhances the phosphorylation of tyrosine residues and facilitates their interaction with PI3K/p85. HER3 is involved in the regulation of myeloid differentiation and plays a key role in the cellular process of normal development and function. ErbB2 and ErbB3 can form dimers and activate signaling pathways including MAPK, PI3K/Akt and PLCγ to promote tumor development[1][2][3][4].
