Biological Activity

Description

IL-12 Protein, Mouse (CHO) has both T cell growth and IFN-γ stimulatory properties.

Background

IL-12 is involved in the differentiation of naive T cells into Th1 cells. It is known as a T cell-stimulating factor, which can stimulate the growth and function of T cells. It stimulates the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) from T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, and reduces IL-4 mediated suppression of IFN-γ. IL-12 also has anti-angiogenic activity, which means it can block the formation of new blood vessels[1][2].

Verified Bioactivity

1. The ED50 is <0.15 ng/mL as measured by 2D6 cells in cell proliferation assay.
2. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse IL-12RB2 at 2 μg/mL (100 μL/well) on the plate can bind Mouse IL-12. The ED50 for this effect is 103.8 ng/mL.
