Biological Activity

Description

Prefusion glycoprotein F, HRSV (CHO) is a recombinant prefusion glycoprotein F, HRSV expressed by CHO.

Background

Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) (hRSV) is the most frequent cause of severe lower respiratory tract infections (bronchiolitis and pneumonia) in infants and young children throughout the world. In addition, a Th2-biased CD4 T-cell response, characterized by the production of allergic inflammation, including interleukin-4 (IL-4) production, may also have contributed to the enhanced disease observed in the FI hRSV vaccine trial. However, disease enhancement is not observed with live attenuated hRSV strains or with subunit vaccines in individuals who have experienced previous RSV infections.

Verified Bioactivity

Immobilized Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) (A2) Prefusion glycoprotein F/ RSV-preF Protein at 0.5 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind RSV specific antibody which targets antigenic site II (Palivizumab), the EC50 is 1.0-2.0 ng/mL.

Solution

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution of 20 mM Sodium Citrate, 200 mM NaCl, 0.02% Tween-80, pH 6.0.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration). Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage & Stability

Stored at -80°C for 1 year from date of receipt. It is stable at -20°C for 3 months after opening. It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -80°C for extended storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping

Shipping with dry ice.
