Background

While the physiological function of Serpin A3 remains unclear, it exhibits inhibitory activity against neutrophil cathepsin G and mast cell chymase. These enzymes play a role in the conversion of angiotensin-1 to the biologically active angiotensin-2. Additionally, Serpin A3 interacts with DNAJC1.

Biological Activity

Measured by its ability to inhibit chymotrypsin cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate MCA-RPKPVE-Nval-WRK(Dnp)-NH2. The IC50 is 15.152 nM, as measured under the described conditions.

Reconstitution
