CAS No.: 96-27-5
Synonyms: alpha-Thioglycerol (Standard)
1-Thioglycerol (Standard) is the analytical standard of 1-Thioglycerol. This product is intended for research and analytical applications. 1-Thioglycerol, commonly used as a reducing agent in various biochemical and biophysical applications, especially in protein chemistry and molecular biology, it can protect proteins from oxidation and denaturation, and can reduce disulfide bonds to thiols base, which can then be modified or analyzed. In addition, 1-Thioglycerol has been investigated for potential medical applications, including as an inhibitor of cystic fibrosis, which may help improve the function of lung cells, and has also been studied for Used in the preparation of metal nanoparticles and as a stabilizer for certain pharmaceutical preparations.

Hesperetin triacetate is an active compound with anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor activities. Hesperetin triacetate inhibits bovine serum albumin denaturation in vitro. Hesperetin triacetate inhibits carrageenan-induced paw swelling in mice in vivo. Hesperetin triacetate exhibits anti-proliferative activity against breast cancer cells. Hesperetin triacetate induces DNA degradation and apoptosis in breast cancer cells. Hesperetin triacetate can be used in studies related to breast cancer and inflammation .

Avocadene is a natural product isolated from Persea americana leaves, with anticancer, insecticidal, anti-Helicobacter pylori, and anti-inflammatory activity. Avocadene exerts antibacterial and anti‑inflammatory effects by suppressing Helicobacter pylori growth and inhibiting protein denaturation. Avocadene displays obvious cytotoxic activity against human prostate cancer PC‑3 cells with an IC50 of 0.5 μg/mL. Avocadene can be used for research of Helicobacter pylori‑associated gastrointestinal inflammation, gastroduodenal injury and prostate tumors .

DBHA is a long-wavelength polarity-sensitive fluorescent probe based on Nile Red. Under the catalysis of Pd (OAc)2/TPPTS, DBHA site-selectively labels protein tyrosine residues via a π-allyl palladium complex intermediate. Utilizing the property that its maximum emission wavelength blue-shifts with decreasing local polarity (650 nm in aqueous solution → 584-608 nm in hydrophobic domains), it detects changes in local polarity and conformation of protein tyrosine domains under acid/thermal denaturation conditions. DBHA can be used in studies related to SOD1-associated oxidative stress neurodegenerative diseases .

Asulacrine (CI-921) is an orally active DNA intercalating topoisomerase II inhibitor. Asulacrine binds to DNA via intercalation, with its acridine chromophore intercalated between base pairs and substituents located in the major/minor grooves, which stabilizes DNA against acid denaturation. Asulacrine acts as a cell cycle inhibitor, disruptor, and arrest inducer, slowing cell progression in late S/G2 phase, causing G2 phase arrest and inducing unbalanced growth. Asulacrine inhibits cell growth, clonogenicity, and colony formation, and leads to histological destruction of tumor cells. Compared to cells in exponential growth phase, Asulacrine exhibits lower toxicity to quiescent cells; its activity depends on cationic properties, and it has better water solubility and metabolic stability. Asulacrine can be used in research related to leukemia, lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, adriamycin-resistant mammary adenocarcinoma, and mouse solid tumors .

COX-2/5-LOX-IN-8 is an orally active dual COX-2/5-LOX inhibitor, with an IC50 of 6.30 μM against sheep-derived COX-2 and an IC50 of 8.09 μM against 5-LOX. COX-2/5-LOX-IN-8 acts as a membrane stabilizer that stabilizes erythrocyte membranes against hypotonicity-induced hemolysis. COX-2/5-LOX-IN-8 functions as a protein stabilizer that inhibits heat-induced denaturation of bovine serum albumin. COX-2/5-LOX-IN-8 reduces paw swelling, improves hind limb weight-bearing function, decreases serum levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, CRP), and lowers serum levels of cartilage degradation biomarkers (COMP, MMP-3, CTX-II). COX-2/5-LOX-IN-8 can be used in the research of osteoarthritis .
