(-)-Secoisolariciresinol 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside
(-)-Secoisolariciresinol 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside is a lignan that can be found in the roots and rhizomes of Valeriana amurensis. (-)-Secoisolariciresinol 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside shows no significant neuroprotective effect against Aβ1-42-induced injury to neuronal cells.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
(-)-Secoisolariciresinol 4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (compound 7) (5-25 μM; 4-24 h) shows no significant direct effects on uninjured PC12 cells, and does not exert marked neuroprotective activity against Aβ1-42-induced injury in PC12 cells at these concentrations[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. .
-
Cell Line:rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells
-
Concentration:5 μM (24 h incubation with uninjured cells; 4 h pretreatment before Aβ1-42 exposure); 12.5 μM (24 h incubation with uninjured cells; 4 h pretreatment before Aβ1-42 exposure); 25 μM (24 h incubation with uninjured cells; 4 h pretreatment before Aβ1-42 exposure)
-
Incubation Time:24 h (uninjured cells incubation); 4 h (pretreatment before Aβ1-42 exposure), followed by 20 h Aβ1-42 treatment
-
Result:Caused no significant change in cell viability or LDH release when incubated with uninjured PC12 cells for 24 h at 5, 12.5, or 25 μM.
Did not produce a marked increase in cell viability or reduction in LDH release relative to the model group when used as a 4 h pretreatment before Aβ1-42-induced injury at 5, 12.5, or 25 μM.
