Stearoyl glutamic acid endows lipid cubic phase materials with biocompatibility, biodegradability, water/oil stability, optical transparency, adhesion to hydrophilic and hydrophobic surfaces, deformability, guest molecule loading capacity, and switchability for controlled binding and release of active compounds[1].
