Description

Transketolase-IN-5 is a transketolase inhibitor and a herbicide. Transketolase-IN-5 inhibits growth of Digitaria sanguinalis, Amaranthus retroflexus, and Setaria viridis[1].

In Vitro

Transketolase-IN-5 (compound 6ba) (200 mg/L; 7 days) potently inhibits root and stem growth of Digitaria sanguinalis, Amaranthus retroflexus, and Setaria viridis, with root inhibition rates of 90.2%, 82.2%, and 83.3% respectively[1].
Transketolase-IN-5 (150 g ai/ha; 7 days) exhibits potent post-emergence herbicidal activity against Digitaria sanguinalis, Amaranthus retroflexus, and Setaria viridis, with GR50 values ranging from 60.901 to 107.728 g ai/ha[1].
Transketolase-IN-5 binds to Arabidopsis thaliana transketolase with a binding free energy of 5.520 kcal/mol via multiple strong interactions, including hydrogen bonds, π-π interactions, and a halogen bond, contributing to its potent enzyme inhibitory activity[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
