Triethylmethylammonium chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt belonging to the class of alkylammonium salts. This compound is widely used as a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis to facilitate the transfer of reactants between immiscible phases. In addition, it can be used as an electrolyte in electrochemical devices, a surfactant in emulsion polymerization, and a corrosion inhibitor.
