U 68215
U 68215 is an orally active benzindene prostacyclin (PGI2) analog. U 68215 exhibits potent anti-gastric ulcer and gastric emptying inhibitory effects without inducing side effects such as diarrhea. U 68215 can be used in studies on peptic ulcer treatment and gastrointestinal cytoprotection.

Activité biologique
Description
In Vivo
U 68215 (25-100 μg/kg; i.g.; single dose; treatment duration 60 min) significantly inhibits gastric acid secretion, suppresses gastric emptying and reduces systemic blood pressure in primate animal models[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Animal Model:Primates were subcutaneously injected with 1 mg/kg histalog 30 minutes prior to administration to stimulate gastric acid secretion[2]
-
Dosage:25, 50, 100 μg/kg
-
Administration:i.g., single dose, gastric function was determined for 60 minutes after a 30-minute equilibration period
-
Result:Produced a 94% maximum suppression of acid output from 60 to 90 min after the 100 μg/kg dose.
Significantly inhibited gastric emptying at all tested doses.
Induced no diarrhea in response to any dose.
Significantly inhibited systolic blood pressure only after the 100 μg/kg dose, whereas diastolic blood pressure was reduced significantly by both 50 and 100 μg/kg doses.
