Biological Activity
(Z)-8-Dodecen-1-ol (0.1-10 ng; 15 min, overnight) acts as the major sex pheromone component of female Cryptophlebia horii, elicits strong EAG responses from male Cryptophlebia horii antennae at low doses, and has a titer of ca. 4 ng per female[1].
(Z)-8-Dodecen-1-ol (10 ng) elicits weak EAG responses from male Cryptophlebia palustris antennae[1].

(Z)-8-Dodecen-1-ol formulated sex pheromone mixtures of Grapholita molesta (0.1-500 μg; treated via gas phase volatile stimulation) induce significant electroantennogram (EAG) responses in the antennae of male Lyonetia clerkella[3].
(Z)-8-Dodecen-1-ol formulated sex pheromone mixtures of Grapholita molesta (50.0 μg per trap, weekly monitoring for 8 consecutive weeks) maintain stable and potent field trapping efficacy against male G. molesta, and the relative trapping efficiency shows no obvious decline after blending with Lyonetia clerkella sex pheromones[3].
