Description

2-Ethylbenzimidazole is an anti-fungal agent. 2-Ethylbenzimidazole inhibits the growth of unicellular fungi and filamentous fungi. 2-Ethylbenzimidazole is applicable for the research of fungal infections[1].

In Vitro

2-Ethylbenzimidazole (Compound 20) (5 mg/mL (250 μg); 2-7 days) exhibits antifungal activity against a variety of unicellular and filamentous fungal strains, with the largest inhibition zone diameter (24 mm) observed against Mucor circinelloides RCMB 07328 and Syncephalastrum racemosum RCMB 05922[1].
2-Ethylbenzimidazole (2-3 days) potently inhibits fungal growth, with a minimum MIC of 0.12 μg/mL against Mucor circinelloides RCMB 07328 and an MIC of 0.24 μg/mL against Syncephalastrum racemosum RCMB 05922[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
