2‑Nitrophenylboronic acid can undergo Suzuki‑Miyaura cross‑coupling with aryl bromide substrates under palladium catalysis; in the absence of an aryl bromide substrate, palladium‑mediated deboronation and self‑homocoupling side reactions occur[1].
2-Nitrophenylboronic acid enables rapid cysteine S-arylation of Ni (II)-promoted IL-8 inhibitor peptide 1 and other cysteine-containing peptides, with an apparent second-order rate constant of approximately ~1.6 M-1 s-1[2].
