Description

24-Dihydroparkeol is a naturally occurring triterpenol. 24-Dihydroparkeol is produced by hydrogenation of 24-methylenelanost-9 (11)-en-3β-ol. Structural analogs of 24-Dihydroparkeol play important roles in the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway in animals[1].

In Vitro

24-Dihydroparkeol (compound II) is isolated and purified from shea butter via hydrolysis of its acetate precursor[1].
24-Dihydroparkeol (50 mg; 16 hr) is oxidized with CrO3 in pyridine to form 24-methylenelanost-9(11)-en-3-one[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
