3-Cyano-7-ethoxycoumarin exhibits fluorescent properties in neutral pH buffer solutions, with the maximum wavelengths of its excitation and emission peaks being 355 nm and 410 nm, respectively^[1].
3-Cyano-7-ethoxycoumarin can be converted into 3-cyano-7-hydroxycoumarin, which exhibits fluorescence properties under neutral pH conditions, with maximum excitation and emission wavelengths of 408 nM and 450 nM, respectively^[1].
3-Cyano-7-ethoxycoumarin serves as a fluorescent substrate that undergoes dealkylation by rat CYP1A1, human CYP1A1, and human CYP1A2 to produce a fluorescent product^[2].
