Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane
Based on 1 publication(s) in Google Scholar
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane; APTMS) is an aminosilane coupling agent and self-assembled molecule that can form self-assembled monolayers or multilayers on the surfaces of silicon-based materials, platinum, pullulan (Viscosity (10%): 15-180 mPa.s) (HY-W145522), and magnesium alloys through silanization or amine-mediated adsorption, serving for surface functionalization and performance regulation. Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane is applicable in research related to biomedical materials, antibacterial materials, and corrosion protection.

Description
In Vitro
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane; APTMS) (0.5 vol.%; 15 h) forms a highly ordered and uniform self-assembled film on regenerated silicon oxide surfaces, with a thickness of approximately 1.2-1.6 nm (one to two molecular layers), exhibiting uniform elemental distribution at the macroscopic, microscopic, and nanoscale levels, without significant vertical polymerization or island-like structure formation[1].
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (57.20 mmol; 5 h) is successfully grafted onto Pullulan, Viscosity (10%): 15-180 mPa.s (HY-W145522) powder via covalent Si-O-C bonds and siloxane bonds, yielding a modified polysaccharide with an APTMS to anhydroglucose ratio of 0.6, a nitrogen content of 1.8 wt%, and a silicon content of 3.5 wt%[2].
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (1 mM; overnight) adsorbs onto the platinum surface through nitrogen interactions, forming a partial surface layer that attenuates the platinum XPS signal[3].
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (1 mM; 5 min) rapidly adsorbs onto platinum surfaces from acidic solution within 5 min, partially blocking hydrogen adsorption/desorption and platinum oxide reduction processes[3].
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (1 mM; 24 h) forms a loosely packed monolayer on the platinum surface, which only partially blocks the electron transfer of ferrocyanide/ferricyanide[3].
Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (10 mM; 12 h) is successfully immobilized on the surface of alkali-heat-treated AZ31B magnesium alloy via self-assembly, forming a covalently bonded silane layer containing amine groups and Si-O functional groups[4].

Concentration:10 mM

Incubation Time:12 h (APTMS self-assembly, room temperature); 6 h, 24 h (cell culture, 37 °C, 5% CO2); 4 h (CCK-8 incubation, 37 °C)

Result:Showed more endothelial cells on the modified substrate compared with the pristine magnesium alloy via fluorescence microscopy.
Exhibited round cell morphologies at 6 h and more cells with better spreading at 24 h than on pristine AZ31B and Mg-OH via SEM observation.
Had higher absorbance in CCK-8 assay than the pristine magnesium substrate, indicating improved endothelial cell proliferation.
