Anti-MRSA agent 26
Anti-MRSA agent 26 is a potent anti-MRSA agent with MIC <0.015 μg/mL. Anti-MRSA agent 26 has superior activity against a broad range of Gram-positive pathogens and shows no cytotoxicity in three mammalian cell lines (Caco-2, DU-145 and MDCKII MDR1 cells) at 10 μM. Anti-MRSA agent 26 has a robust TAP pharmacophore and an excellent antibacterial activity in Staphylococcus aureus skin infection mice model.

Biological Activity
Anti-MRSA agent 26 (Compound 21) (1-10 μM, 3 h) does not cause toxicity in Caco-2, DU-145 and MDCKII MDR1 cells at concentrations 10 μM[1].
Anti-MRSA agent 26 (0.015-16 μg/mL, 20-24 h) has superior activity against a broad range of Gram-positive pathogens, with MICs of <0.015 μg/mL (MRSE), 0.015-0.03 μg/mL (MRSA, VRE1, VRE5), and 0.06 μg/mL (MSSA)[1].

Animal Model:Female BALB/cJRj mice were inoculated with 5 μL of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 (5 × 103 CFU/mouse) on skin lesion (10 × 10 mm) on day 0[1].
-
Dosage:2% cream
-
Administration:Applied the cream to cover the wound, twice per day with 6 h between for 5 days and then collected skin tissue and bacteria.
-
Result:Significantly reduced Staphylococcus aureus load in Staphylococcus aureus skin infection mice model.
