(±)-Scopolamine
(±)-Scopolamine (Atroscine) is the racemic form of Scopolamine (HY-N0296) and belongs to the tropane alkaloids. (±)-Scopolamine can be synthesized as the free base via an H2O2-mediated epoxidation reaction using 6,7-dehydrotropine as a key intermediate. (±)-Scopolamine is useful for the synthesis of tropane alkaloids and stereochemical studies.

In Vitro
(±)-Scopolamine (Atroscine) (compound 2) (3 d) is obtained via H2O2-mediated epoxidation, and the reaction system is adjusted to pH 8-9, followed by extraction with CHCl3 and purification on an alumina column, affording the free form as a pale yellow oil in 16% yield[2].
