In Vitro

Policresulen inhibits the DENV2 replication in cell BHK-21 with an IC₅₀ of 4.99 μg/mL. Policresulen exhibits mild cytotoxicity in cell BHK-21 with an IC₅₀ of 459.45 μg/mL^[1].

In Vivo

Policresulen (360 mg/kg, topical application, twice daily for 15 days) decreases the expression level of E-cadherin, reduces cell-cell adhesion, causes abnormal changes in the buccal mucosa of guinea pigs, including epithelial hyperplasia, vesicular degeneration, and abnormal mitosis^[2].
