Biotin-β-Amyloid (17-40) is a N-terminal-labelled biotinylated amyloid-β(1-40) peptide. β-Amyloid (17-40) is a 24-residue fragment of the Aβ protein via post-translational processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP).

生物活性
β-Amyloid (17-40) (5-10 μM) increases the rate of Aβ (1-40) aggregation more than addition of equivalent amounts of β-Amyloid (17-28), because it facilitates aggregation of Aβ40 through two different mechanisms, one promoted by residues 17-21 and the second by residues 30-35[1]. Biotin is widely used throughout the biotechnology industry to conjugate proteins for biochemical assays. Biotin can be used for qualitative and quantitative detection, labelling or immobilisation.
