In Vitro

Blue tetrazolium (0.137-1.37 mM; 60 min) is used to determine succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) activity in permeabilized Saccharomyces cerevisiae Bc16a cells, and cell density shows a linear correlation with BTf formation[3].
Blue tetrazolium (0.68 mM; 30 min) can be chemically reduced to BTf, and the resulting product is soluble in DMSO for preparation of a quantitative standard curve[3].
